Is It Just Me? Cats, Filming & What I'd Do When I Win The Lottery !
This weekend has been fun filled and hard work. Not that I mind either of those, but for some reason I’ve felt a little flat the last couple of weeks. Just Me?
I’m hoping it’s not, otherwise I may have to get out of the house more.
This “working at home a lot” malarkey is, in theory, a great idea. As long as I get all I need done I get to set my own hours, spend time with the lovely Mr G at weekends, (something I missed out on for so many years when designing cakes) work with amazing food producers and concentrate on food, the Foodie Book Club and writing my cook book. So, I should be feeling on top of the world, right?
It’s not that I’m not feeling it, it’s just I’m not used to spending this much time just me and the cats.
Yes, I am a woman with cats, two in fact. One, a three-legged beauty called Cincy, the other her handsome brother who goes by the name Hamilton.
I’ve told both my furless, two-legged children that because they are all grown up and left to pursue their own lives, (how dare they) as I age, I will turn into “That Woman”. You know the one, you’ve seen her?
You see her shopping with her pull along shopping trolley, sometimes with a rain hat tied under her chin, sometimes without. On the days the sun shines enough for the hat to be abandoned, her hair is a mass of grey ends, wind-swept and frizzed. Because in my mind she is a natural beauty and doesn’t know what FaceTune is.
There may be a few stray cat hairs to be found on her well-loved coat, a few strands of fine wool attached to her practical tights. Yes, in my mind she knits too. Although when I’m going to find the time to learn this, I’m not sure?
At Halloween, children will be reluctant to spend their precious time meandering down her drive. Past experience has shown them that the only treat they get from her is some home-made cinder toffee that is loved by their parents, but quickly disposed of by the white toothed children.
The house? Well, you’ve probably guessed by now, lots and lots and lots of cats. Although in my mind, there won’t be that tell-tale smell that can be associated with a cat house. It will be fresh and smell of fresh bread and vanilla cookies. You get the idea.
So why so icky? I’m hoping it’s the weather, the long winter and not me heading down into a dark place. Watch this space.
Anyway, this weekend I did a little bit of filming with Fab Food Tv. They came, took over my kitchen and we made and filmed three dishes with a lemon theme.
There was an amazing and succulent lamb tagine with preserved lemons, lemon and ginger curd Bakewell’s and last but never least, Croatian walnut cookies with no walnuts. You get the idea; the walnuts were replaced with the fresh tang of lemon zest.
I’ve been a bit slack where the YouTube channel (Lee & The Sweet Life) is concerned. Too little time, so I’m hoping that with Fab Food Tv booting me up my ass, helping me film content every couple of weeks, I’ll have time to post on a more regular basis.
What will I get when I win the lottery?
Not a car or a house. No, I’m going to hire a talented person who will do all of the posting for me.It takes such a long time to edit everything, and get it out there.
Right now, I have the Incredible Lizzie, who has an amazing PR and Digital Marketing company, Peachy Digital, which is helping me get this website in some sort of order. Get it hooked up to all of the background stuff that helps get the site noticed, and everything else she is skilled in, which I have to admit, is pretty much everything.
I’m not a techie, I know what I know and that’s it. Lizzie knows everything there is to know, how to do it, when to do it and she just, well, does it. Her hard work is leaving me a bit more head space to concentrate on all of the things I mentioned earlier. I’m hoping with a bit of space in my head, my mood will start to lift and I’ll be welcoming the spring very soon.
I will also hire someone to clean my fridge and oven, I really hate those jobs!
Enjoy Your Sweet Life
