Baker & Foodie Content Creator
My name is Lee, welcome to my pages. I hope we can have fun together?
When I’m not developing recipes for others, writing guest blogs, writing my own blog, or even trying to learn how to paint, I’m usually spending time with the amazing Mr G (my husband) or with my lovely daughter or my lovely son (very proud mum).
What is this all about? Great question. This site is about real cooking and baking, real recipes and real mistakes.
No filters here, (although i’d love to find a filter that can take ten years worth of laugh lines away. Just me, whats happening, and whatever cameras or phone i have to hand .
There are many things that get under my bonnet and wiggle around, one of those is food waste. If i buy ingredients specifically for a recipe, and i only need a small amount of the ingredients, i want to be able to use the rest up and not have to throw them away. My mum used to say , “Waste not Want not” is that still a saying ?
For me, waste is not just about using up all the ingredients. What about leftover food? If i’m able , i hope to give ideas as to how to use up any leftovers too.
Be Brave
Cooking isn’t hard , neither is baking, its all about being brave and being ok with making mistakes
What do i do for a living now?
I’ve my perfect job!
I market food and drink companies and showcase their wares by developing recipes using their amazing products, with monies going to help fund Foodie Book Club CIC
It works because:
A dedicated recipe page on websites brings extra clicks
Adds value to newsletters
Attracts new customers
Encourages returning customers
Builds customer loyalty
Increases brand loyalty
Showcase new, already loved and promoted products
Encourages new ways of using product
More sales
Companies give me their food or drink products and i develop friendly recipes along with a blog and pictures.
Live Cooking
I’m not afraid of cooking live in front of a camera, at food festivals or for social media and i do this for other companies too.
Showing how to use great ingredients in a fun and live cook, is a great way to encourage other people to get in the kitchen and cook using the same ingredients. A fantastic way of promoting food/drink products.
It’s all done to show how versatile products can be.
With everything going on in this crazy world right now, more and more business is being moved on-line and with every sale vital to any size of business, showing other ways to use food and drink is a sure-fire way of bringing in new customers
A new friendly recipe each week/month can make a difference to sales of a product and create customer loyalty to a brand.
Then there’s the recipe testing!
Have you ever thought about what goes into getting your favourite cook book on the shelves or one of those free recipe cards in your local supermarket ready for you to take home and try ?
Apart from the idea, the hard work, the pictures and the writing, time is spent trying out the recipes for each dish again and again to ensure they work every time in your home kitchen.
When a new cook book is in the developmental stage of the process i’m one of those people who tests the recipes in my kitchen so that they work in yours.
Check out just some of the great companies i’ve worked with!
Something about me!
A Croatian father and Geordie mother (mongrel or bred to perfection?) i do think that you can do anything if you’re brave enough.
I am a believer in a person having many work lives during a lifespan and i’m a real example of this.
An ex-counsellor, lecturer, mother, wife and extreme cake designer, i’ve lived in Belgium and America with myriad successful businesses under my belt (most of them food related).
There is also Foodie Book Club CIC.
